Greenland is the last remnant of the vast northern ice sheet that covered Scandinavia 20 000 years ago. Despite being inhabited and in relatively close proximity, many fundamental research questions remain about how the ice changes and is affected by the ocean.
The large amounts of fresh water bound in the ice also have the potential to influence the large-scale ocean currents off the coast of Greenland.
During the talk, we will see photos from the R/V Skagerak expedition to Greenland in the summer of 2023 and learn more about the practicalities of research in Greenlandic fjords.
The event does not require booking.
