First Umeå-Göteborg Workshop in Practical Philosophy

On Friday 19 November the department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science is organizing the first Umeå-Göteborg Workshop in Practical Philosophy. Welcome! This event is open to all interested and will constitute the start of a biannual exchange between practical philosophers at the University of Umeå and the University of Gothenburg.

During one day each semester, practical philosophers from the two universities will gather for a workshop with presentations by post-docs, lecturers, and professors.

11:15 – 12:30 – Madeleine Hayenhjelm (Umeå): Status Quo Bias, Precaution, and "risks on both sides" (and the case of germline gene editing)

13:30 – 14:45 – Yuliya Kanygina (GU): Problematizing third-party blame.
14:45 – 16:00 – Bram Vaassen (Umeå): AI, Opacity, and Personal Autonomy
