When HDK-Valand’s graduation show by Bachelor students in Fine Art takes place at Konstepidemin, visitors will move between dreamlike states and a radical reality. A diverse range of media is presented, from painting to multimedia installations. A common thread is the students’ deep interest for the materials they work with.
Visitors are invited to move through intersections of dreams and reality, between the familiar and the transformative to discover explorations of environmental statistics through painting as well as floating luxurious utopias, rejected toys, an interactive love drama and large-scale photo collage.
Amid the wide range of expressions, there is a shared sense of belonging in the constant search. In the students’ engagement with materials, there is resistance, escapism, and comfort.
