Focus for Diana's PhD-project is on the genetics controlling water use traits and their relationship with drought tolerance in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The overarching goal of this project is to identify genetic loci associated with water economy and drought tolerance through QTL mapping. Her primary focus is on water use efficiency at the leaf level, specifically targeting its two underlying components: stomatal conductance and photosynthesis.

Opponent at the seminar is Pär K. Ingvarsson, Department of Plant Biology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Uppsala,  and examiner is Cornelia Spetea Wiklund, Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences. Diana’s main supervisor is Mats Andersson (BioEnv)
