To improve the tribological efficiency of high-voltage electrical appliances which are essential for the connection, isolation, and interruption of electric-current and this research introduces innovative co-electrodeposited materials. For this reason, aniline’s in-situ polymerization with graphene oxide (GO) nanostructures as an oxidant was used to fabricate conductive and crystalline polyaniline (PANI) chains on GO sheets. PANI@GO was co-deposited on Cu substrates with adjustable thickness and surface characteristics alongside Cu matrix as one of its components. The cyclic-voltammetry method was used to deposit GO and PANI@GO coatings on metal substrate. X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy were used to obtain structural and morphological details of the fabricated PANI@GO and PANI@GO-Cu matrices. According to the data, PANI has grown successfully on GO nanostructures which have a structure resembling worm. The PANI content had a significant impact on PANI@GO-Cu deposited coatings and tribological experiments demonstrated that PANI@GO material coating on Cu substrate significantly reduced the coefficient of friction (CoF) value. The temperature, pH levels, voltage range, applied load, and quantity of nanomaterials in deposited coatings are the primary factors of their lubricating activity. The tribological results depicted that PANI@GO-Cu sample depicts excellent efficiency containing around 0.2 CoF value in comparison to GO-Cu (~ 0.6).
