Shubigi Rao / Pulp I–IV, opening at Bildmuseet on March 14, is the first comprehensive survey of Pulp—the artist’s decade-long project on censorship, destruction of books, assaults on literacy and libraries, and loss of languages. Shubigi Rao (b. 1975, India) has been featured in biennials and art museums around the world. She represented Singapore at the 2022 Venice Biennale and was the artistic director of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in the same year. For the second and third volumes of the Pulp book series, she has been awarded the Singapore Literature Prize for creative non-fiction. The first presentation of the Pulp project was awarded the APB Signature Juror's Choice Award. Pulp I-IV at Bildmuseet is the artist's first solo exhibition in Sweden and the most comprehensive presentation of the Pulp project to date.
