Research programmes
A summary of the seven research programmes we run at the GNC.
The Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre currently runs 7 research programmes which are meticulously planned, designed and executed to allow the GNC to conduct groundbreaking research across a wide range of ESSENCE disorders (neurodevelopmental disorders). Our researchers as well as doctoral students are assigned a research programme to work with.
In addition to child and adolescent neuropsychiatric research, the centre conducts studies within adult psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, child neurology, neuropsychology, speech and language pathology, and pedagogy. Research studies pertaining to aetiology, epidemiology and genetics as well as longitudinal follow-up studies have received widespread international attention.
Below you will find a summary of the 7 programmes which will provide a detailed description of the programme and collaborators as well as past and present research associated with each programme.
The research activity at the Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre is currently more intense than ever. Our 7 international hubs and Gothenburg Centre constitute a large platform that enables numerous multidisciplinary and international research projects.
