Department-wide research areas
Individual research is carried out at the department within the fields of literary history, theatre studies, the history of ideas and learning, religious studies and theology.
We also work actively to develop strong and competitive interdisciplinary research that can contribute towards creating a complete environment where research and education work in partnership at different levels.
We are convinced that successful cooperation between the department’s various disciplines can lead to research synergies, form a multidisciplinary creative climate and thus contribute towards enhanced competitiveness in the struggle for external research funding and interesting researchers, doctoral students and students at first- and second-cycle levels.
Based on existing research at the department and plans for forthcoming research initiatives, seven department-wide research areas have been crystallised. These are concretised in seminar series, courses and research projects, and can also be developed into research profiles.
