About us

At the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology we conduct research and education covering a wide range of knowledge areas.

Research: Among the conditions given special interest are psychiatric and neurological endemic diseases, dementia, neuropsychiatric disabilities, eye diseases and common metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Our mission is to understand the underlying causes of these conditions. We also strive to quickly apply our research findings in health care, in terms of improved diagnostics, treatment and pharmaceuticals.
Education: The institute is responsible for the occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language pathology, audiology and pharmacist programmes, and also has major commitments in the education of future physicians, dentists, prescriptionists and biomedical analysts. The institute also provides postgraduate education, contract education and independent courses.
