The Bioinformatics and Data Centre (BDC) at Core Facilities, through its activities in Clinical Genetics and Genomics, has had a significant role in the work so far. Per Sikora, who is Chief Engineer at Clinical Genetics and Genomics, as well as one of the two heads of unit for BDC, is looking forward to taking the work further:

"It is stimulating to be able to contribute to something that in the long run can create concrete value for patients. We hope that our continued work with pilot projects and data sharing will eventually facilitate the introduction of precision diagnostics and thus treatment for patients. From BDC, we contribute with data collection from various projects, an activity that increases the collective knowledge in the area. The money from the National Board of Health and Welfare means that we can continue to collaborate with Sahlgrenska University Hospital to develop and implement the national genomics platform that is located here in the Region of Västra Götaland".
