In today's fast-changing global financial world, there's a push for more diversity and inclusion to make the financial sector stronger and more resilient. Different perspectives and fresh ideas are crucial for sparking innovation and making wise decisions.
– Sustainable Finance encompass a broad range of topics among which one of the most important is who the future leaders in finance are. These leaders will shape the ethos and values of the industry. I strongly believe that if these leaders champion diversity and inclusion, finance will be better equipped for a sustainable future, says Dr Viktor Elliot at the School of Business, Economics & Law and Director of Swedish Community for Sustainable Finance.
This helps adress systemic inequalities, encourages innovation, and ensures responsible stewardship of resources for a more resilient and ethical financial system
The Swedish Community for Sustainable Finance (SCSF) brings together researchers and industry players to collaborate and find new solutions for sustainable finance. They hold annual conferences, this one featuring discussions like Women in Finance.
– We invited some of the foremost advocates for diversity, inclusion, and sustainability in finance, says Dr Viktor Elliot.
– This conference idea came out from a discussion between Viktor and myself, where we decided to create an academic conference where we mix practitioners with academics to really talk about how research can be impactful and make a positive change in society and in the industry, says Dr Ylva Baeckstrom, King's Business School, Kings College London & Director of SCSF.
Why is a conference like this important?
– A conference on inclusion, diversity, and sustainability in finance is important because it fosters discussions and initiatives that promote a more equitable, diverse, and environmentally sustainable financial sector. This helps adress systemic inequalities, encourages innovation, and ensures responsible stewardship of resources for a more resilient and ethical financial system, says Dr Viktor Elliot.
