The Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA) is a highly regarded academic journal that publishes research in financial economics. Topics include corporate finance, investments, capital and security markets, and quantitative methods of particular relevance to financial researchers.

"Professionally, it is a great honor to serve on the editorial board of one of the finest journals in finance. On a personal level, it is also a recognition of the often hard but anonymous work that one conducts as a referee. Serving as an associate editor makes that work a bit more visible. The JFQA was also the first major journal where I had a paper accepted as a young researcher, so I have had a long relationship with the journal."

Erik Hjalmarsson holds a PhD from Yale University and has previously worked for the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C., as well as for a major hedge fund in London. His research has been published in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. His term as Associate Editor of JFQA runs for four years.
