Decisions on funding for the Nordic Gender Fund 2024 call are now finalised. This year's funding will support journals, networks and conferences in three Nordic countries.

The first call from the Nordic Gender Fund closed on November 15. The fund is established by the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research at the University of Gothenburg, with the aim to support infrastructure for gender research in the Nordic region.

This year's call for proposals resulted in 103 applications, of which seven projects were granted funding:

  • Network for Critical Dementia Studies, Sweden
  • Tidskrift för genusvetenskap, journal for gender research, Sweden
  • Interdisciplinary network for Research on Gender and Games, Norway
  • “Surviving SOGICE”, open-access digital platform on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Change Efforts (SOGICE), Norway
  • The Queer(y)ing Asylum Symposium 2025, international conference, Denmark
  • Children - research on children and childhood in the Nordic countries, special issue on gendered childhoods, Norway
  • g25 - Feminist Coalitions for Livable Worlds. Where, when, and for whom?, national conference on gender research, Sweden

A total of SEK 500,000 will be allocated this year. A new call from the Nordic Gender Fund will take place in autumn 2025. Information about the fund is posted on the Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research website.
