What are you studying?

We are both second-year students in the Master’s Programme in International Business and Trade.

How are you planning on using your scholarship?

We will use the scholarship for our upcoming master's thesis, which we will conduct in Japan during the spring semester. In our thesis, we will investigate how Swedish companies operating in Japan perceive and navigate the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and Japan. During our stay in Japan, we plan to interview several Swedish companies to gather insights on the opportunities and challenges they face related to the EPA. We believe that Swedish companies operating in Japan can provide valuable perspectives to the study and help us identify what support and interventions from the EU or Swedish institutions that can be helpful for companies looking to grow in the Japanese market.

How does it feel to be awarded the scholarship?

We are incredibly honored and grateful to receive this scholarship. It is a great opportunity that enables us to pursue our research in Japan, where we are excited to connect with Swedish companies and gain insights into the Japanese market and culture. We look forward to learning from the experiences of Swedish businesses in Japan and using these insights to make a meaningful contribution to our field.

What would you like to work with in the future?

With our background in international business, we both hope to work in roles where we can support organizations in navigating global markets. We are interested in opportunities that allow us to collaborate across borders and contribute to growth on a global scale.

What are you studying?

I am studying in the Master's programme in International Business and Trade at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

How are you planning on using your scholarship?

My scholarship will be used to finance my master's thesis project.

How does it feel to be awarded the scholarship?

I am deeply honored to receive this scholarship and incredibly grateful to the Prins Bertil Foundation for their support in helping students engage in and contribute to the exchange of knowledge in the international market. More than a scholarship grant, this is a motivation and an affirmation that my academic dreams are still valid. Valid enough to be recognised and supported and that truly means a lot to me. I am grateful to be a beneficiary of this scholarship and I am excited about how it will significantly impact my research work.

What would you like to work with in the future?

In the future, I am open to work wherever I can truly make a positive impact. However, everything about how organisations grow across borders and operate internationally is interesting to me and I see myself learning and growing with an international organization (or a local organization) and then, working towards a PhD in business, contributing to academia as well as consulting for organisations worldwide.

What are you studying?

I’m studying an independent course at the Department of Economics with Statistics at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. The course is called "Workplace-Based Education in Economics" (30 ECTS), and my internship is at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in India, where my role is titled "International Management Trainee." Previously, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

How are you planning to use your scholarship?

This scholarship gives me the opportunity to explore a much larger part of India. In the coming two weeks, I’ll be traveling to both Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. In January, I’ll be heading to Mumbai and perhaps also Bangalore. With the work at the Chamber, you receive a lot of interesting contacts at Swedish companies around India, whom I plan to visit during these travels.

How does it feel to be awarded the scholarship?

Fantastic. The scholarship enables activities that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible. It will enhance my internship experience.

What would you like to work with in the future?

That’s still uncertain. However, I’m interested in macroeconomics, international relations, global trade, production chains, and value chains. I can absolutely see myself working at Business Sweden, a chamber of commerce, or a Swedish company with a global presence.

What are you studying?

The Bachelor's programme in Business and Economics.

How are you planning on using your scholarship?

I will use the scholarship for my bachelor’s degree. Together with a friend, we’ll study how Swedish companies establish themselves in foreign markets. The scholarship makes it possible to conduct a study visit, which will be so exciting!

How does it feel to be awarded the scholarship?

Of course, it's so gratifying! It’s the first time I’ve applied for a scholarship, so it feels extra rewarding that someone believes in our idea for our thesis.

What would you like to work with in the future?

Oh, I wish I knew! We’ll see what the future holds!
