Highlights from the Heritage Academy 2024

Published

The Heritage Academy sums up a busy year.

– It has been a busy year, says Jenny Högström Berntson, one of two coordinators for the Heritage Academy. We have arranged the annual events, the Heritage Academy's spring conference and the autumn's Heritage Fair. In collaboration with the Centre for Critical  Heritage Studies, we have also released two new podcasts.

Active network on food heritage

The Heritage Academy has also co-organized of a number of events, including a series of events led by the research network #culinaryheritage (#matarv). During 2024 #culinaryheritege held a series of events together with Rydal Museum and several actors, including the Centre for Tourism, the Center for Sea and Society, Rydals Herrgård and Folkuniversitet. The event series was held in conjunction with the two exhibitions Mat: Mer än en måltid och Nybyggaren at Rydal Museum.

Changes within the Heritage Academy

This year began with us welcoming two new collaboration partners - the County Administrative Board and the Halland County Museums Foundation. During the year, new members have also been added and some who have been involved in the collaboration group for many years have left for other assignments.

New members of the collaboration group are: Susanne Fredholm, Anders Gustafsson and Gertrud Olsson, from the University of Gothenburg, Mats Herklint and Pia Falck from the County Administrative Board and Anders Håkansson, who represents the Halland County Museums Foundation.

Anders Wikström will end his assignment as coordinator for the  Heritage Academy on behalf of the Cultural Administration at the turn of the year 2024-2025 and from January 2025, Vivian Smits will take over the role. Vivian works as Development Manager at the Cultural Administration of the Västra Götaland Region.
