Published

Merima Bruncevic is a researcher and associate professor of Art Law and Legal Philosophy. She is now in Los Angeles at UCLA the course AI and Entertainment Law. We asked her to tell us more about it:

“Exciting times at UCLA School of Law! As a STINT fellow I’m honored to have the opportunity to teach the first-ever course on AI at the law school this fall. My course is titled “AI and Entertainment Law.” With 80 enthusiastic students, we’re exploring how AI is reshaping the entertainment industry and the complex legal questions that arise—from copyright and intellectual property to AI-generated content and new industry standards.

The course is designed to provide legal skills and to encourage critical and interdisciplinary thinking. Students are developing practical tools to navigate AI technology and its impact on entertainment law, blending traditional methods with innovative approaches. They’re also encouraged to integrate AI tools into their work responsibly, fostering transparency and ethical awareness in their projects.

As part of UCLA Law’s dynamic academic community, known for its strong program in entertainment law, we’re truly at the forefront of an evolving legal landscape. I’m grateful for this chance to explore these emerging topics with such talented and engaged students!”
