The government has today decided to hire Malin Broberg as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gothenburg. She will take office on 1 July 2023.
”I would like to wish Malin Broberg the best of luck in her assignment as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gothenburg. With her solid academic background in psychology and experience in management assignments, she is fully qualified to carry out her upcoming role as Vice-Chancellor in an excellent manner,” says Minister for Education Mats Persson in a press release from the government.
Regarding how the rest of the university leadership will look, incoming Vice-Chancellor Malin Broberg will primarily wait for the appointment of a Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
On this matter, the University Board will make a decision on June 14, but on May 23, candidates Carina Mallard and Max Petzold will be interviewed by the consultative assembly, which will then submit its decision to the Board.
”Whoever is given the assignment as a Pro-Vice-Chancellor will affect how I will shape and distribute other assignments and areas of responsibility. At the end of June, I plan to be able to present the university management in its entirety,” says Malin Broberg.
