Protesters chained themselves in the university’s main building

Several pro-Palestinian protesters entered the university's main building in Vasaparken on Tuesday morning, where they chained themselves. By 1 p.m., some of them left the building voluntarily, while others had to be carried out by the Police.

It was around 10 a.m. that a couple of protesters tried to enter the room where the university's board was meeting. When they were turned away, some of their fellow protesters chained themselves outside the room. In total, around 15 people entered the building.

"Since they did not want to leave the premises and were loud, the Police were called in to handle the situation through dialogue," says Vice-Chancellor Malin Broberg.

The protesters wished to meet with the board, so two of them were offered the opportunity to present their message at the meeting. Afterwards, several of the protestors chose to leave the building, while others remained. These were carried out by the Police.

"The demands presented to the board were similar to those made previously, which the university has responded to and also discussed during a total of three meetings with the protesters," says Malin Broberg.
