Symposium October 24: Rare health conditions and the patient’s life journey

On the occasion of Anders Olauson receiving an honorary doctorate, Sahlgrenska Academy is organizing a symposium on October 24 at the Conference Centre Wallenberg in Gothenburg. Theme: Rare health conditions in children and young adults – and how society needs to contribute more to the patient’s life journey.

Symposium program  

The symposium will highlight the current state of research on rare health conditions from various perspectives, including health economics and legal aspects, as well as the viewpoints of patients and families,” says Professor Jovanna Dahlgren, Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences at Sahlgrenska Academy (University of Gothenburg), and moderator of the symposium.

Six speakers will give short presentations. The newly appointed honorary doctor, Anders Olauson, will discuss the need for societal solutions focused on rare health conditions and share international experiences and insights from the Ågrenska Foundation.

The honorary doctorate will be conferred the day after the symposium.
