Biomarkers in neurosurgical diseases
Research project
Active research
Short description
Problems with fatigue and cognitive impairment are common after brain surgery. Methods to predict these problems after surgery are needed. Increased levels of circulating brain injury biomarkers have been associated with the severity of injury and clinical outcomes in diseases such as traumatic brain injury and acute brain ischemia.
The aim of this project is to study the release of these biomarkers after brain surgery and study the possible relationship between the increase of biomarkers and clinical outcome.
