ELSA - Early Educational Language Support Activities
Short description
Preschool staff and researchers use a structured language-supporting work method to increase the staff's competence, as part of the preschool’s goal fulfillment regarding children’s language development and learning.
Through action research, areas for language support are identified. An observation tool is used to study existing language actions and study any change and language activities important to develop are detected. Knowledge are obtained about how collegial discussions can increase learning. These highlight the conditions and prerequisites that should be changed, to develop the staff’s competence in supporting children’s language development. The children's language are assessed for increased competence in language development and for early detection of children in need of special support for language difficulties.
