Evaluate the Swedish version of CANFOR and assess level of needs in forensic psychiatric patients (CANFOR-SV).

Forensic psychiatric patients are characterized by complex patterns of mental health needs, but we lack a more detailed description of this complexity and what it means in terms of their need with regard to basic life domains. This project will establish the psychometric properties of the Swedish version of the assessment tool CANFOR, and assess level of need based on staff and patient ratings in different populations of
forensic psychiatric patients. CANFOR will first be translated (from English) and evaluated based on staff ratings of forensic psychiatric patients. In step two, patientbased assessments will be carried out, followed by quantitative comparisons between different groups of forensic psychiatric patients, with staff ratings, and with comparisons with how needs are documented in journals and care plans.
