Maximizing information gain through amplified rapport: Utilizing shared activity in intelligence interviews
Research project
Inactive research
Short description
Currently, there are very few research-based interviewing techniques that law enforcement agencies can use to improve their interview approaches and gather useful information to prevent security threats. This project aims to address this need by developing tactics that are ethical and uphold the highest levels of human rights. The project will produce an interview technique that law enforcement agencies can use to increase a smooth and positive interpersonal interaction with interviewees: This is called rapport-building, which has been shown to improve positive outcomes in investigative interviews and leads interviewees to share information willingly.
