Mental health care needs in forensic psychiatric patients (MENT-FOR).
Research project
Short description
MENT-FOR aims to identify malleable psychological and psychiatric care needs in forensic psychiatric patients. In the study, a consecutively recruited cohort of forensic psychiatric patients (n=100) from a large forensic psychiatric clinic in Sweden participates. Participation is based on free will and written, informed consent and entails file reviews (medical records, court files), self-reports, and complementary interviews with the patients. The data collection focuses on psychological (e.g., emotion regulation strategies, levels of inhibition) and psychiatric (e.g., mental disorders) mental health needs that can be used as treatment targets within forensic psychiatry.
