Multifunctional blue-green infrastructure - optimizing socio-cultural and environmental aspects for sustainable urban development

The objective of this interdisciplinary project is to develop knowledge and methods, enabling an overall assessment of different types of blue-green infrastructures (BGI). Different types of BGI will be evaluated regarding stormwater management, water quality, outdoor and indoor climate, energy use, recreation and social inclusion in different urban environments in the short and long term, from a life cycle and socioeconomic perspective. Multi-criteria analysis supported by a user perspective will form the basis for developing recommendations for optimizing BGI's physical planning.
