Short description

This project investigates the robotization of professional work. Rather than taking dystopian or utopian scenarios for granted, this project focus attention to what happens in practice when introducing and using robots in professional work. From an actor-network theory approach, it examines how work is performed by robots and professionals, how expertise is shared and who is held accountable for what. The focus is on medicine and journalism, having different degrees of professionalization, and different histories of robotization. The project will (1) map the discussions on robotization in professional journals and networks in each field, (2) conduct qualitative studies of specific sites of robotization in each field through interviews, observation and shadowing, (3) analyze and compare the material across the two fields.
