Walking football for health
Short description
Walking football is a new form of exercise football that is played at a walking pace and has grown in popularity around the world in recent years. The overall aim of the research project is to evaluate the physiological and cardiometabolic effects that 12 weeks of Walking football have on physically inactive older age adults. The study is an intervention study with repeated measurements before and after 12 weeks of Walking Football. Laboratory tests will be conducted prior to and after the intervention to measure fitness, strength, balance, and body composition. Participants will consist of older adults, both men and women. The project is a collaboration between the Department of Nutrition and Sports Science and Sahlgrenska University Hospital at the University of Gothenburg, the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences in Stockholm, Umeå University and the Swedish Football Association.
