Short description

My research aims at understanding gender roles and norms and how they affect women’s economic lives in Ghana. To study gender roles, I will analyze how women can access resources, more specifically, I would like to focu on how women could own and use land. Access to resources is by law equal to both the female and male population, however, studies and data show that women are still discriminated. Thus, analyzing the historical factors that affected the differences in access, may lead us to a better understanding of why today women are less involved in the economic life.
