Summary
You search, collect, evaluate and interpret relevant information in the chosen linguistic field, which you then compile in a thesis.
About
In this thesis course you practice writing and defending your own scholarly work using idiomatic academic English.
In consultation with your supervisor, you plan a linguistic study that you
independently carry out and present orally and in writing.
You defend your thesis at a seminar where you also review another thesis in a critical and constructive way.
The course has scheduled online classes.
Prerequisites and selection
Entry requirements
To be admitted to the course, students must have completed the course AF1311 and courses equivalent to at least 60 credits in some of the subjects Arabic, Somali, Swahili, Xhosa/Zulu, linguistics/general linguistics, or the equivalent thereof. A further requirement is 15 credits in Academic English or the equivalent thereof. Exception is made to the requirement for Swedish as a general entry requirement.
Selection
Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits.
