This information applies to applications for the Master of Fine Arts in Music with Specialisation in Organ and Related Keyboard Instruments, starting in autumn 2026. The next application period is 16 March – 15 April 2026.
Your application process
The following information applies to applicants starting their studies in autumn 2026.

If you are a citizen of the EU, an EEA country, or Switzerland, you are exempt from paying enrolment or tuition fees. If you are exempt from the application fee, you must provide proof of your exemption status. More information about fees on universityadmissions.se. - Complete your eligibility.

The dates for admission decisions and related details will be published by the end of November 2025 at the latest.
Applicants are welcome to visit the department in advance to familiarise themselves with the facilities and instruments.

Admission tests
For entry in autumn 2026.
Test parts
Organ audition
You will perform 20 minutes of music of your choice. If you wish to demonstrate your improvisation skills, prepare 15 minutes of repertoire and 5 minutes of improvisation.
Compulsory repertoire
In addition to your chosen pieces, you must perform three chorale settings from Johann Sebastian Bach's Orgelbüchlein:
- Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ (BWV 604)
- Christ lag in Todesbanden (BWV 625)
- Vater unser im Himmelreich (BWV 636)
Test procedure
After the application deadline, you can choose to take the test on campus or digitally.
On-campus test
Before the test, you will be asked to select which organ you would like to use. We will provide you with information about preparation times on the instrument and your scheduled audition time.
In addition to the practical test, a discussion will be held about the intended focus of your independent project.
Digital test
You will record and submit videos corresponding to the subtests Organ audition and Compulsory repertoire. Carefully read the video recording requirements before you begin recording.
Upload your completed video files via SlideRoom. You will need to create a SlideRoom account using your email address and a password of your choice.
A short discussion about the intended focus of your independent project will be conducted via Zoom video call, following our invitation.

Requirements for the video recordings
The following requirements apply to applicants taking the digital test.
- The audio quality of the recordings must be high.
- Film in close-up so that your face, arms, and the instrument are clearly visible.
- Upload separate video files as follows:
- Organ audition:
- One (1) video for repertoire performance.
- One (1) video for improvisation (optional).
- Compulsory repertoire:
- One (1) video per chorale (three (3) videos in total).
- Organ audition:
- Maximum file size: 500 MB per video
- Accepted file formats: .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .flv, .asf, .mpeg, .mpg, .mkv
Eligibility and selection
Entry requirements
Bachelor degree of arts in music or equivalent, and musical knowledge and skills that are assessed at the admission test and are the basis for selection.
Selection
Selection of eligible applicants is based upon entrance tests.
