About

This course is designed for students enrolled in different educational programmes or other programmes in social sciences, who are interested in learning more about the teaching profession, its complexity and challenges, and the heterogeneity of competencies applied in everyday teacher’s work.

During the course, the history of teaching is addressed, as well as classical learning theories and their role in understanding teaching and learning processes. As a student in this course, you will have the opportunity to choose one of the offered topics to explore more thoroughly. The course literature combines classical readings and contemporary research conducted within the Swedish context.

Entry requirements

General entrance requirements for university studies and the Swedish upper secondary course English 6 or equivalent.

Selection

Selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %).
