Master's Programmes in Conservation
Would you like to study conservation, in the vibrant city of Gothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden? We offer two unique Master's Programmes.
If you have citizenship in the EU, an EEA country, or Switzerland, you are not required to pay application or tuition fees in Sweden.
Conservation
- Combines academic studies with research assignments which enables you to link theory with practice, and build your capacity for both professional and research careers.
- Is designed to deepen your knowledge about the characteristics and multiple layers of meaning that constitute cultural heritage, and condition its influence and doing in societies.
- Helps you develop new skills in the documentation, assessment, interpretation, and conservation of cultural heritage.
Conservation of Cultural Heritage Objects
- Combines science, practical conservation, and research and is taught by experienced conservators, conservation scientists, and international guest lecturers.
- The specialization—following ENCoRE requirements—has a different material focus each year.
- Makes you develop methodological and technical skills while incorporating critical thinking in conservation, reflecting on how your decisions influence context and treatment.
- Small classes allowing close contact with researchers.
