Molecular Prokaryotic Microbiology
About
The course in Prokaryotic Molecular Microbiology aims at giving you a deeper knowledge in bacterial genetics and cell biology. The topics covered in the course include regulation of gene expression, bacterial growth and division, DNA repair and protein homeostasis. The course also includes diverse current topics in molecular microbiology which change from year to year.
Prokaryotic Molecular Microbiology is a master’s level course. The content is intended to prepare you to become part of a research group, both in your thesis project and in your future career. To this end, the course mimics a research group where you work on a common research laboratory project, read and present both classic and current research articles, and present a poster on the topic of your choice.
Teaching
Teaching methods include original laboratory research, presentations in small groups and poster presentations.
This course is taught in English.
