Physical Oceanography - Get your Master's Degree in Gothenburg

About the Programme

The Master’s Programme in Physical Oceanography will give you in-depth knowledge of the physics of the ocean, including governing forces for ocean circulation, climate, and the polar seas. You will get acquainted with the state-of-the-art techniques used to observe and model the ocean.

  • The University of Gothenburg is Sweden's leading university for marine research and education, with excellent conditions for addressing the challenges of the future within marine research, education, and innovation.
  • The Department of Marine Sciences has access to a unique marine infrastructure, such as state-of-the-art research vessels, and research field stations.
  • The Master's Programme in Physical Oceanography is designed so you can explore the main branches, including theory, observation and numerical simulation, and later specialize according to your own interests.
  • If you have citizenship in EU, EEA country, or Switzerland, you are not required to pay application or tuition fees in Sweden.

Scholarships

Students with a citizenship in EU/EEA, or Switzerland do not pay tuition in Sweden. This also apply for exchange students. All other students are required to pay for our courses and programmes. Good news is that there are scholarship available for fee paying students.
