About
This course offers an introduction to the history and development of Scandinavian societies. The point of departure will be ancient times and early medieval Scandinavian societies. During the course we will also study the period of Swedish and Danish absolutism, early parliamentarism, industrialism and ideological changes and we will also problematize the emergence of modern welfare states in Sweden and Scandinavia.

Selection
Selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %).
