About

Understanding educational assessment is essential for everyone, as it plays a crucial role in fostering effective learning and improving educational practices. Set within the frame of policies and social contexts, the course explores how assessment in education is used to support and evaluate learning both in Sweden and globally.

Key topics include the purposes and consequences of formative and summative assessments, as well as critical issues such as fairness and validity. Participants will also discuss key factors involved in assessing learning in lifelong and lifewide contexts. Through engaging workshops and practical tasks, participants will gain an understanding of assessment challenges in various learning contexts and insights on how to address these challenges.

Selection is based upon average grade from upper secondary school (34 %), the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits (33 %) and Högskoleprovet - Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (33 %).
