Kassahun Weldemariam är universitetslektor vid Institutionen för didaktik och pedagogisk profession, Fakulteten för Utbildning vid Göteborgs universitet i Sverige. Han har en doktorsexamen i pedagogiskt arbete från Göteborgs universitet. Han har även en internationell masterexamen i Förskolepedagogik och Barnomsorg från Oslo Metropolitan University i Norge; samt en annan masterexamen i Undervisning av Engelska som Främmande Språk (TEFL) från Addis Abeba universitet i Etiopien. Kassahun har tidigare arbetat som föreläsare och lärarutbildare vid Dilla universitet i Etiopien, och som förskolepedagogisk ledare i Stockholm, Sverige. Hans huvudsakliga forskningsintresse ligger inom ämnet Utbildning för Hållbar Utveckling – från förskola till högre utbildning. Han har publicerat ett antal peer-reviewade artiklar och bokkapitel om olika ämnen såsom hållbarhet, tidig läs- och skrivinlärning, tvåspråkighet, tvåspråkig läs- och skrivinlärning, professionalism, lek, läroplan, och lärarutbildning. Hans doktorsavhandling analyserar de antropocentriska egenskaperna hos forskning om miljömässig hållbarhet inom förskoleutbildning och utforskar post-antropocentriska möjligheter till förändring för att ta itu med den relaterade globala miljöpredikamentet.
