Department of Social WorkAbout Anna Melke
Overview I am a researcher and at the unit for Research and Development (FoU i Väst) at the Gothenburg Region and affiliated to the Department of Social Work. My main research interest is social work with children and families at risk. Over the years, most of my projects have concerned collaboration between welfare state actors and implementation of new methods or models. I am also interested in collaborative research designs that aim at improving social work practice, and more generally in the development of an evidence-based practice.
Research I am currently involved in a number of research and evaluation projects. The main project focuses on Signs of Safety, a model that originates from Australia, but is highly popular in Sweden. The project aims to identify whether or not this model makes a difference when it comes to child protection work. The study includes case reviews, observations and user interviews in six different local authorities, both Signs of Safety users and non-users.
