About Svante Prado

My research focuses on four areas: The first one deals with Swedish wages and labour markets in a comparative and long-term perspective. To encourage studies within this field, Christer Lundh and I have launched HILD (historical labour data base), which provides the most important parts of the official wage statistics from 1865 until 1990. The second deals with international comparisons of labour productivity in manufacturing, market services and agriculture. The third deals with how technological changes affect demand for skills. The fourth deals with income distribution in Sweden between 1860 and 1970 (with Erik Bengtsson and Jakob Molinder). My research is supported by RJ, VR and Jan Wallanders and Tom Hedelius Stiftelse.
