About Theresa Westgård

I am employed as a researcher at Department of Psychiatry and Neurochemistry and Sahlgrenska Academy, Centre for Ageing and Health – AgeCap. I am also a member of FRESH (FRail Elderly Support ResearcH Group) which is a part of AgeCap – Center for aging and health: https://agecap.gu.se/. Additionally I am a board member of AgeCap as the Greenhouse representative, which is a research group for doctoral students and junior researcher within AgeCap.

My research is focused on frail older people, person centred care and their capability to make decisions and participate in their health care to achieve activities of daily living that are important to them. Currently, I am working on our newly funded FORTE project: Bridging the gap: Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and a case manager (CM) to integrate the care for frail older people – a controlled study.

Lastly, I am currently employed by International Relations Department at University of Gothenburg, and support our collaboration between Swedish and Italian universities and researchers focused on geriatric and ageing research via SWETALY.
