Visiting Fellow Programme

The Department of Applied IT welcomes guests from academia, industry, government, and civil society to participate in and contribute to our community through visits of 1-12 months. The programme provides the opportunity to spend time collaborating with the leading programmes and research groups at the department as a Visiting Doctoral Student, Visiting Researcher, Visiting Professor, or Visiting Professional.

The Visiting Fellow Programme is an opportunity for guests and existing members of the department to learn from each other and develop together. Guests are expected to actively contribute by participating broadly in seminars and other collegial activities but are also encouraged to take opportunities to forge connections and work together with members across the Applied IT community.

To apply for the Visiting Fellow Programme, applicants must have come to an informal agreement with an existing member of the department to act as host during their stay.

Examples of possible funding opportunities in Sweden include the guest scholarship programme for PhD students and post-docs from the Swedish Institute, post-doc stipends from the Swedish Research Council, along with grants for faculty members from the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT). Within the Nordic countries, there is funding available from the Nordic Council of Ministers (Nordforsk) and within the EU, there is funding available through the Erasmus+ programme.
