Gothenburg: Films That Make A City

Join us for an evening of screenings and discussions at Wieselgrensplatsen 17, investigating Gothenburg’s construction through film, and how film has continually re-made the image of Gothenburg. Gothenburg has always been new, but the new is always joined to the past it seeks to erase. 

Erik Florin Persson and Karl-Magnus Johanssson present archive films from Gothenburg made over the last 90 years. Daniel Jewesbury introduces his 2024 film Landskap med kvinna och monument (Woman with Landscape and Monument), shot in Gothenburg in 2022-23, and discusses its making with C. Grace Chang
