GPS400: Centre for Collaborative Visual Research
Image
GPS400 collaboratively identifies, investigates, and presents how images have been used historically, and how they can be utilised today and in the future as empirical prime source material, as significant data in computational research, as heurtistic tools when developing multimodal methods, and as culturally valuable artefacts, collections, and heritage. In collaboration with the surrounding community, we combine AI-based analyses of large-scale data with detailed close-readings of individual works, periods, events, and locations. Our long-term goal is to establish GPS400 as a permanent interdisciplinary resource and infrastructure for collaborative visual research.
