What took place in the first weeks following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022?
You are welcome to attend a vernissage and exhibition at University of Gothenburg’s main building Vasaparken of the short graphic novel “Messages from Ukraine” by Gregg Bucken-Knapp and the Estonian comic artist Joonas Sildre. Focusing on the first dramatic weeks of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the book is based on text messages from fifteen Ukrainians who are migration and integration professionals.

The touring exhibition is organized by the International Centre and Jonsered Manor at University of Gothenburg, in cooperation with exhibiting partners at the university. Messages from Ukraine is published by University of Toronto Press. Proceeds from the sale of Messages from Ukraine will go to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, a national charitable foundation that provides humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.
