Rwandan doctoral students visit School of Global Studies in Gothenburg
A group of five doctoral students from Rwanda recently completed a three-month guest research visit (Sept-Nov 2024) at the School of Global Studies, University of Gothenburg. This visit is part of the PhD program in Peace, Conflict, and Security Studies at the University of Rwanda (UR) in Kigali, which is part of the ongoing collaboration between the University of Rwanda and the School of Global Studies.
The aim of the visit was to provide the PhD students with the opportunity to get acquainted to and participate in a different research environment from their home departments, create networks, and work closely with their Swedish supervisors. During their stay, the doctoral students actively engaged in various academic activities, such as attending seminars and workshops and participating in the Development Research conference in Lund 21-23 Oct 2024). They also worked on their theses and concluded their stay by presenting their work at a PhD mid-term seminar.
Two more students will visit the School of Global Studies in the spring of 2025.
