About Maria Marinopoulou
Maria is a licensed psychologist and PhD in medical science. Marias clinical experience involves child and adolescent habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry. Since 2020, Maria has been working as a specialist psychologist at the Child and Adolescent Habilitation Centre in Region Värmland.
Research interests
Maria defended her PhD thesis “The relationship between cognition and ESSENCE in childhood” in 2023. In her thesis work, Maria investigated the relationship between cognitive functions and ESSENCE in a cohort of children from the general population, as well as the importance of intellectual function for academic achievement in children with ADHD or autism. Maria's research interests are cognitive functions in neurodevelopmental disorders, ESSENCE features in childhood, and follow-up studies.
