About Olof Arvidsson
Olof Arvidsson is a physician specialising in child and adolescent psychiatry at Södra Älvsborg hospital, Borås. Olof became a doctoral student at the GNC in 2023, and combines his residency with research.
Research interests
Olof started at the GNC through his master thesis at the medical programme. This led to the publication "Secular changes in the symptom level of clinically diagnosed autism" in 2018, which showed that autism diagnoses seem to be assigned on the basis of fewer autism symptoms over time. In his research, with Sebastian Lundström as main supervisor, he continues to investigate if the prevalence of ESSENCE in the population has changed over time in various age groups, how diagnostic constellations have changed over time in the clinical setting, as well as how autism with regression is different from autism without regression.
