Research interests
Petra's research stems from her clinical work with preschool children with autism and other developmental neurological deviations in a multiethnic area. She defended her thesis in 2023 titled "Young Children with Autism in an Immigrant and Multiethnic Population." The aim of the study was to describe a group of children with autism in a multiethnic population, focusing on the prevalence of autism, feeding difficulties (ARFID), early regulatory difficulties, and other concurrent developmental neurological difficulties. Her current research focuses on, among other things, parents' experiences of working with the intervention model Early Start Denver Model. Furthermore, an AI study on background factors for autism is planned.
