Research interests
Sebastian defended his thesis in 2011 where he used twin methods to investigate the correlates and etiology of autism spectrum disorders. He has continued to use large scale epidemiological data to investigate questions regarding the increasing prevalence of autism. Among other things he has shown that even though autism diagnoses increase in society the symptoms that constitute autism do not. Furthermore, he has shown that an autism diagnosis today is assigned on significantly fewer symptoms than before. He has been the main supervisor for two PhD students and is currently the main supervisor for three PhD students.
