About Yuhei Hatakenaka

Yuhei Hatakenaka is a child psychiatrist and a certified clinical psychologist. He is currently a professor of clinical psychology at the University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan. He is also a clinician and researcher at Kochi Gillberg Neuropsychiatry Centre (Kochi, Japan) and the National Ryukyu Hospital in Okinawa. He became a PhD student at the GNC while working as a clinician in Japan, and he completed his PhD in 2018.

 

Research interests

His research interests consistently focus on early screening for ESSENCE in child health settings. There are two main areas of research: the clinical utility of the ESSENCE-Q and the predictive accuracy of the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders using data from infant health check-ups.
